Karen hails from the artistic city of Adelaide, South Australia. She gained her music teaching degree and gave up her love of horse riding to do music full time. Now based in London, she teaches and writes vocal courses for pop vocal schools and runs voice workshops teaching about sound, colour, vibration and awareness. Her musical influences come from an eclectic mix of artists such as Seal, KD Lang, David Hykes, Alanis Morissette, overtone singing styles, Tibetan chant, Kate Bush, Nitin Sawhney, Tori Amos, Fleetwood Mac, Jazz, blues and atmospheric music.
Karen writes and co-writes material from film score influenced music through to rock, recording most of the demos on this site in a home studio. She is currently attaining her Masters Degree and will be recording an album in 2008. You can hear a taste of some of her songs on this site.
'The Colour Project' was written in conjunction with Steve Baker. This is a kaleidoscopic, epic and emotional human journey seen through the secret energies and influences of the seven colours of the rainbow. This exciting and unique project lends itself to further development either with a dance company or film company or as a mixed media presentation. The tracks are also highly suitable for background film music. A taster can be heard on the downloads page.
Karen is at present unsigned and her full song catalogue is intact. She can be contacted via this website . See contacts page for full information. For upcoming performances of new material, see the gig guide for details.
All songs have been copy written with UKCS and remain the property of Karen Grace and any relevant co-writers.
